During these challenging economic times, it is critical that our Village not only provides exemplary services but that it does so while ensuring that the taxpayers and residents receive real Value. My roles as part of a family business and at Immanuel Lutheran Church have provided me with extensive experience in budgeting and management; skills that are necessary to help lead an organization such as Downers Grove, particularly in the tight financial conditions that may well continue into the foreseeable future.
Yet despite the recent economic turmoil, opportunities are everywhere, and our future as a Village is bright. Experienced leadership will be necessary to successfully navigate the uncertain waters ahead.
Now more than ever, a more is less mentality focused on lean principles is what we need.
I believe we can achieve that bright future. We can continue to improve all we do but we must do it while yet exercising frugal, prudent financial decision-making. Only this way can we ensure Downers Grove remains a community of uncommon Value.
